Main Street Martial Arts is proud to be a collaborative partner with the Providence After School Alliance East Side and North End AfterZone Project which benefits Providence Urban Middle School Students. We are a 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 AfterZone Grant Recipient and we greatly appreciate PASA's acknowledgement as to the work we're doing to help the students and families of Providence.
The Providence After School Alliance is a public/private venture that is working to expand and improve the quality of after school opportunities for the youth of Providence by building a system of after school supports. This system will provide access for all youth in the City to high quality after school programs and learning opportunities.
"This is not about quick fixes, but about a sustained investment in building something that will survive me and will benefit the children of the city for generations." - Mayor David Cicilline, City of Providence
"Thanks to PASA's network of city government, businesses, and local schools, Main Street Martial Arts is able to extend a helping hand to 1,000's of transition-age youth who are without access to quality after-school programming. PASA provides us with the capacity to help more students by transporting students who are not able to travel to great after-school programs directly to our door where we can include them in our Ultimate After-School Youth Leadership Program. Without PASA, there would be many more 1,000's of students without the mentoring, coaching, and life-improving quality programming that helps them to stay focused, stay in school, and have positive relationships with adult community leaders. We are proud to be of service to students and our local community through PASA's AfterZone Program." Mr. Michael L. Werth Sensei, Founder & President of Main Street Martial Arts
